Uptown Portland, or Kings Hill, is a neighborhood situated at the base of the West Hills. This area played host to wealthy merchant’s residences at the turn of the century. Their stately mansions remain, and are mixed with classic apartment buildings.Uptown offers convenience to neighborhood coffee shops, markets and delis as well as the MAX light rail system. In addition, Northwest 23rd Avenue is just a few blocks away. Proximity to Northwest’s bustle, yet access to the natural elements of Washington Park make this an ideal location.
Uptown Neighborhood
Washington Park features Portland’s International Rose Garden, the Japanese Gardens, and Hoyt Arboretum. Lit tennis courts, picnic areas, soccer and softball fields, as well as miles of hiking trails are all at one’s doorstep. Additionally, the Oregon Zoo train accepts passengers at Washington Park during certain seasons. The Uptown neighborhood provides the peacefulness of its established residences, yet wonderful urban and natural access.
