Downtown – Park Blocks

Symphony, Sushi and Saturday Market

Downtown Portland is the cultural center of the City. The Park Blocks offer blocks of inviting park benches, green lawns and grand elms. Cultural institutions, such as the Portland Art Museum and Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall reside alongside this green space. The Oregon Historical Society allows a glimpse of the past, and Portland State’s Campus rests at the South end.
Convenient transit Downtown includes the MAX light rail system, providing travel around town and to suburbs East and West; Portland’s Streetcar, looping through the Pearl District and Nob Hill; as well as Portland’s reliable metro bus system. Walk to Tom McCall Waterfront Park, alongside the Willamette River, which is a popular venue for the City’s annual Rose Festival as well as routine musical events. Or visit Saturday Market, an open air market full of arts and crafts. There are numerous ways to enjoy the beat of the City in Downtown.
